Our bio-methane plant converts our liquid waste from the distilling process to energy to power our distillery. At the moment, 55 percent of our energy comes from the biomethanisation plant. The rest of our power is fuelled by Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), which emits 20% less carbon as compared to conventional diesel combustion.

Our aim is to keep the entire supply chain from raw materials through the production process to the point of delivery to the market in a manner that minimises the impact of our operation on the environment.

Through our parent company, Demerara Distillers Limited, we are committed to the development of youth through Education and Sport. Apart from sponsorship of several development sports programmes, the DDL Foundation provides scholarships to students in need.
The DDL Foundation is a charity that supports the advancement of education by providing five year scholarships to students in secondary school.
Students who have proven their financial need are awarded full scholarships that cover transportation, books, uniforms and other main costs associated with attending school.

Our Diamond Distillery also has a Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Plant which reduces the release of CO2 into the air. The CO2 that is produced during fermentation is trapped, purified, liquefied and stored at the plant then later used for carbonation of soft drink, production of dry ice and other industrial uses. Additionally, our new stills recover and reuse energy so that we use less to make more.
